Dr. Sebastian Groh is a dedicated advocate for transforming the energy landscape through the principles of Decentralization, Decarbonization, Disruption, Democratization, and Digitization. As the founder and managing director of SOLshare, a pioneering start-up in Bangladesh, he led the installation of the world’s first cyber-physical peer-to-peer solar sharing grid in a remote area, showcasing innovative approaches to sustainable energy.
A 2013 Stanford Ignite Fellow from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Dr. Groh holds a PhD from Aalborg University and the Postgraduate School of Microenergy Systems at TU Berlin. His doctoral thesis focused on the intersection of energy, development processes, energy poverty, and technical innovations, with a particular emphasis on Bangladesh.
Through his research and entrepreneurial efforts, Dr. Groh is committed to driving impactful change in the energy sector and fostering inclusive solutions for energy access.
